Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad
Hello
I was wondering if xfactor will be offering hosting for Red Orchestra2: Heroes of Stalingrad? And if so will you have the servers available for pre-order? I believe I read over at tripwire that they will be releasing server files early once they get closer to launch. I believe they also said something about having a server admin mailing list to keep people up to date. The clan I belong to is searching for an all in one solution for RO2 and TS3. We have heard several good things about xfactor servers and would like to explore solving our server needs here. Thanks, Yaro |

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad
Hi Yaro,
Provided they do release the server files, we will be more than happy to add this to our list of available games. I have checked it out a bit, but I will follow up and see if I can get more information on the server files for it. We generally don't do pre-orders unless the server files are guaranteed, so this is something I will need to verify before hand. |

I bought the standard version for $31.99 then upgraded to the deluxe for $8 - even tho it says $9, now I can play in the Beta ! http://store.steampowered.com/app/35450/ ---------------------------------------- |

How is it? There are so many games coming out in the next 2 months, I think I am going to skip this one. I didn't have the original so that extra 10% off wasn't available.

I didn't have the original so that extra 10% off wasn't available. The beta is fine - its old school pc fps gaming - the maps are huge - they seem a bit bare of objects/detail, but in reality recreate actual locations and are full of buildings that are explorable ... and when you shoot someone, the ironsights are small but you do kill ! The gametypes vary, so depending on how full a server you are on, the notifications and round ends may go by quickly. Footsteps are a bit noisy, sort of like CoDWaw was at the beginning - but WaW actually had echoed sounds. There's a lot to soak up, again its WW2 - the play is smart and fast - movement is crisp. I remember being a bit put off by the original in comparison to the Medal of Honor series, but - and I haven't tried the tanks yet - this is a fully fleshed out game that should be given the chance, what with Tripwire's active & fast support, mods available, the ability to host your own server, lan play ... Some of the hallmarks of RO are: stamina prone crouch Sprint speed is actually faster than the original, nother sore point for me back in the day. Cover - its available just about anywhere. The trick is to experiment with your keybinds and what you can get comfortable with, and go have a ball. I think that a lot of players these days expect to get into a game and go - there should always be a setting up and adjustment period. Nuff said, game is worth the expense, there's only 1 other game coming out this fall as far as I'm concerned, and I'll be doing BF3 as well. ---------------------------------------- |

BF3 really won't be worth it except for the eye candy of the new engine. Once again, EA decided not to release "public" dedi files for the game even though Activision will be for MW3. Interesting turn of events.
